Will I enjoy Cisco software bug fixes under Multiven NMS?
Yes for all your licenced software
Yes. Multiven has the right to contact Cisco’s TAC to address software defects and obtain software that addresses such defects if such software exists, solely on behalf of Multiven’s customers that have a valid license for the software containing the defect and will install the software that addresses the defect on the genuine Cisco product on which the software containing the defect was running.
Forward Looking Statement:
Multiven anticipates that fresh anti-competitive malpractices may recur and in some instances, delay the release of bug fixes for some customers. In the event that this occurs, Multiven's expert support engineers are on standby to implement workarounds to restore software-related issues while Multiven consumer advocacy group obtains corrective resolution and secures appropriate bug fixes.
What if I don't have a licence for my software?
Will Multiven still maintain it for me?
Yes. You will however not be entitled to ongoing software bug fixes. (If you have not paid for software or hold a valid license, you are not eligible for ongoing bug fixes)
What is the difference between a software update and a software upgrade?
A Software Update is a bug-fix-only software upgrade that maintains all embedded features within the software while improving its reliability, availability and security. The growing stability offered by bug-fix-only software upgrade makes it the globally adopted software upgrade plan for all production networks.
Software Upgrade is sometimes incorrectly used to loosely describe software that gets ongoing new-features-and-bug-fixes. Since most new defects are introduced into software during new feature implementation, software that gets ongoing new-features are highly unstable and unreliable and therefore unsuitable for use in production networks.
In order to enhance network reliability, availability and cyber-security, internet service providers, telcos, government and leading enterprises worldwide maintain bug-fix-only software upgrades in their networks. All software with new-features should always be thoroughly regression tested offline in the lab, validated and certified compatible with existing install-base before a production network roll out.

I would like to upgrade to the latest software release even though my software is not currently experiencing any defect. How do I go about it?
Multiven NMS provides you with 24x7 direct-to-expert TAC support, software support and advanced replacement of hardware across all SLAs. If your software is stable and not defective, don't fix it. Multiven does not encourage (nor facilitate) unwarranted software upgrades as they will expose your network to new bugs and make it less secure and reliable.
If you are however encountering a software defect, please upload a show tech, logs and a crashinfo file (if applicable) to your task to enable us troubleshoot the root cause and provide you with appropriate resolution.
